Tags: blog awards, I love your blogA few days ago Fern sent me a link to a website and asked me what I thought.
I headed over there and I really liked it. It is called Eco Me and basically they have done all the hard stuff and put together kits, complete with essential oils, for you to create your own eco-friendly cleaners. Read More
Tags: , eco friendly cleaning supplies, natural cleaners, recipesI was checking some links into the blog yesterday and I came across links form a site I had not seen before…I went to see what it was about..and emerged a few hours later knowing that you guys needed to know about this site. Mrs. Survival is a forum with articles, chat board, and other resources about …ummm…survival. I found the discussions on world events to be thoughtful and realistic for the most part rather than …whatever the word is I am looking for and can’t find in my sleepy brain right now. Read More

It is a time of longing for me. I have never gotten used to the lack of autumn in Texas and I miss the crisp days, the scent of leaves burning, the intense colors, and apple orchards of my childhood. Read More
Tags: online diary, schedule, simple woman's daybookI have hated soy for years. In fact, like many other things I get on a soapbox about, my friends and family get tired of the tirades about how irresponsible the FDA has been with soy products.
There is no good reason for taking that stuff and if you are using any soy product extensively you need to stop it. AND if you are feeding it to you kids you need to really stop it.
Here’s why: Read More

Yep, once you have worked on the previous stuff the next step is supplements and herbs. You see, the medication will never work as well alone as it will with the other things …and people generally want a quick fix, a pill to take to fix them. Read More
Tags: ADD/ADHD, herbal remedies, natural remedies, trilight herbs for childrenI love World War II posters, sorry, I couldn’t resist.
One of the scripture verses that my children learn because they hear it so much is this:
The power of life and death is in the tongue…. (Proverbs 18:21)
I grew up in a very verbally difficult household. One of my parents had experienced much abuse and, while i knew I was loved, my nicknames were things like:delinquent, incorrigible brat, and self centered snot. Read More
Tags: , ADD/ADHD, encouragement, wordsIf you are expecting to read about herbal remedies for add/adhd that is coming. It is just that I think people run to medications too quickly for an easy fix rather than changing some of the things that may be causing the problem.
It is my opinion that we’re creating alot of the problem of ADD/ADHD by our lifestyles. In the late 1800s anyone who was able to read was able to read Charles Dickens or GA Henty. In fact these authors were read by children in the sixth and seventh grades. Complex sentences, long passages of descriptive phrase.
Today many adolescents are unable to concentrate long enough to read comic books. That is not a learning disability that is a teaching disability. Read More
Tags: , ADD, ADHD lifestyle, minimalismA lot of people do not believe that I have ADD and several of my kids do too. In fact, I am actually pretty messed up but when I was a kid you didn’t have the luxury of a disease or a syndrome…you just got popped. Marc is still left handed despite years of the nuns in parochial school smacking his knuckles with a ruler.
He is just that rebellious. Read More
