Get Green the Easy Way

A few days ago Fern sent me a link to a website and asked me what I thought.

I headed over there and I really liked it. It is called Eco Me and basically they have done all the hard stuff and put together kits, complete with essential oils, for you to create your own eco-friendly cleaners.

Now, technically you could get all of the ingredients together and do it yourself..but when you are first starting out it is hard to decide which essential oil to use, which recipe to use…and what goes with what….

Besides these kits are just so darn cute! They come in a burlap bag with spray bottles, cloths, scrub brish, essential oils, and instructions. It couldn’t be easier.

The essential oil combination sounds great if you like “green” scents. It is a combination of tea tree, lavender, lemongrass and rosemary.  These are some of the strongest essential oils when it comes to antibacterial, antifungal, and antiseptic action.

After 20 some odd years of working with essential oils I can go to the health food store and mix what I want to get the action I want.  But if you don’t have that knowledge yet this is a great way to get started in green cleaning.  The kits vary in price.  There are  kits for home cleaning, body care, baby, dog, and cat.  My guess is that you will be seeing one for laundry on their website before too long.

Check it out.  If you don;t have the knowlege, the time, or the confidence to pull together the ingredients yourself this is a great alternative.

It’s nice to know about this. I’d still feel pretty confident about pulling my own together based on a tried and true recipe.

Me too, Jen, but truth is that we are from a generation that expected to do this…Society now is much more apt to want soemthing all ready made for them. :)
