Home Remedies for the Doldrums
Sometimes the best home remedy for staying cheerful is to take stock of our lives and assess where we are and where we are going. I think that once the past is forgiven it is best to leave it back there with any baggage that it accrued at the time.
Once before on another one of my blogs I attempted to stay current with The Simple Woman’s Day Book. I love this idea! I was unable to do it then, but I am hoping that now I can. So, here are my thoughts for today. Check out her site, start your own and keep track of your life.
July 7th
Outside my Window…Bright and sunny. It is going to be nearly 100 today.
I am thinking…Of my son who has recently been stationed in Japan
I am thankful for…Answered prayers this weekend
From the kitchen…Looks like a tornado went through, I need to bake bread today.
I am creating…Nothing at the moment, but plans for a quilt to make with Shiloh soon
I am going…Antiquing this week, for a day to myself.
I am wearing…Oh, my…still in pajama bottoms and red tank top
I am reading…The Art of Living Romantically
I am hoping…for a a diagnosis for Marc
I am hearing…Children playing
Around the house…Messy, messy, messy
One of my favorite things…Autumn, cool weather and roaring fires!
A Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week..Taking steps to organize my office
Here is a picture thought I am sharing with you…Nick’s 8th birthday

It is supposed to be in the 110’s here today, so I utterly sympathize with you on the heat. Your comment of cool autumn temps took me to a happy place for a moment; thank you! :) It was a lovely break.
Have a wonderful week!

Hi Marye!
That’s about the only thing I don’t miss about TX is the heat. All my family is back in North Texas and I miss them so…but the gas for my kid hauler makes the trip too costly.
Have a lovely day~

What a great idea! I’ve always wanted to keep a journal but never knew what to write about. I can see how keeping this sort of journal would both help me record what is going on in my life and also help me be more productive.
p.s. I’ve really enjoyed reading your blog in the last few days since I discovered it. I already have bookmarked quite a few of your posts for future use.

I’m inbetween books right now so I’m making a list. I’ve not heard of The Art of Living Romantically. Is it any good? Who is the author?
I hope you enjoy here enough to stay with it. I’m certainly enjoying it!!
Thanks for sharing,
Robyn

I’m in Arizona so I know about the heat, it’s awful. Loved reading your daybook.
If you don’t mind, would you tell me the name of the author for the book you’re reading? It sounds like something I would enjoy :)

Blessings on your son in Japan! Thanks for your well-wishes for mine just starting out! I like your sentiment about taking stock and keeping track as a way to get out of the doldrums. I think you’re right!

One of your favorite things is mine too! This heat and humidity is NOT for me.
As for those pink sweatpants, what can I say, they are maternity and I did not have to buy them. During my first pregnancy, I was blessed with quite a bit of maternity clothing from someone who was done with pregnancy. I have only had to buy a few things during my three pregnancies. So thankful! I just don’t wear those pink things out in public. haha.

Hmmm my house is clean except for a gazillion balloons in the living room. The kids got a wee bit tired of them. they have them corraled with bolster pillows so one can walk through the room safely. Vacuuming was …different.

Robin and Sandra- I am adding an amazon link to the book I really like it. Easy to implement ideas for a romantic lifestyle and all from a Christian perspective.

I don’t have an office or a desk. I have a table sitting in the dining room against the wall that I use as a desk. I want to organize my little area and deal with all my paper from over the years. I’d love to hear more about your organizing progress.

We hit 100 rarely here in Michigan. That book sounds lovely. I read a similar book by Barbara Cartland. The book had many good ideas, though most of the travel suggestions was out of my price range.
