Natural Remedies for ADD & ADHD Part 4:Herbs and Supplements

O.k..so you have changed the family diet, you have simplified your lifestyle, and you have begun being your child’s one person fan club…Things are better..but still…..

Yep, once you have worked on the previous stuff the next step is supplements and herbs. You see, the medication will never work as well alone as it will with the other things …and people generally want a quick fix, a pill to take to fix them.

Sometimes when you use herbs, homeopathy, and supplements you see an immediate response but sometimes (more often) it takes a few weeks to begin seeing a change. I suggest that you try the herbs for four to six weeks before deciding that you are not getting results. By four weeks you should see improvement and by six weeks you should see a definite change. If you are able to get the supplements at a GNC store you can return them within 30 days for a money back guarantee. At least that is how my GNC works. Check it out.

Calcium and Magnesium are important.Take the supplements as directed.

Multivitamin

Omega-3

Extra zinc-researchers have found that ADD/ADHD people have a zinc deficiency

Ginko Biloba

Ginseng

Trilight Herbs, Peace Treaty- I have not used this BUT I have always had wonderful results with any of their medications and I recommend the company highly!

Valerian extract 2 to 3 times a day

Homeopathic Ignatia helps with temper tantrums as it is happening. Just pop two tablets under the tongue and the results can be almost instant.

Rescue Remedy can also be used in the midst of a tantrum or meltdown..Better yet, try to get it in them before the tantrum happens.
Daily massage

If you could only do a couple of things off of that extensive list I would recommend the Trilight and the magnesium, plus the Ignatia or Rescue Remedy, along with the massage.

I bet you thought I was never going to get done, huh?
