Some people seem to be more prone to cold sores than others. I don’t think anyone in my family has ever had one, but I know that they can be painful and embarrassing. The first thing is, if you have trouble with cold sores then change your diet. You are getting too much sugar and not enough whole grains and vitamin C.
In the meantime let’s see if we can get rid of that thing, shall we?

A lot of times I make my own laundry detergent but I like to have something on hand in case I forget, or am swamped that week or whatever. Soapnuts are perfect to fill that need. Have you ever used them? Read More

Lots of people suffer from allergies to pollen. Itchy, watery eyes, runny nose, congestion…ewwww.
We live in an area of the country that boasts one of the highest allergen levels anywhere. Do not quote me on this but I seem to remember a doctor telling Marc that this 20 mile triangle was the worst in the U.S.
Need I mention that Marc suffers from allergies?

So I haven’t updated you guys in awhile on the adrenal thing.
I haven’t been walking like I was. Which excuse do you want? I barely have time to take a shower these days. The weather got cold and it was just…nahhhhh. Read More

Pleurisy root is a herb that has been used a long time for various lung problems. It is best, in my opinion, when it is combined with elecampane. It is hard to find though.
So, what does this great stuff do?

It seems like my kids like to draw on almost anything. We don’t have a driveway or sidewalks (country living!) but when we did they used to love to play with this. You can make a neat gift by adding some smooth river rocks and calling it a hopscotch kit! Sidewalk chalk is a fun gift, frugal stocking stuffer, or great project for a rainy day.

Sounds like something my babies would have asked for. “Noni? Mommy, Noni?”
Noni Juice seems to be everywhere, and the cure all for everything. Everyone is selling it…everyone seems to be talking about miracle cures related to drinking the stuff. So, is it what it is cracked up to be?

Need a craft? Easy paper mache recipes are versatile whether you want to make a pinata or are interested in making some Holiday ornaments and gifts. I can remember way back (in prehistoric times) dipping string in paper mache goop and wrapping it around a balloon. When it was all dry you popped the balloon and had a cool ornament. There are all kinds of htings you can make…you just need and easy paper mache recipe… or two.

O.k. maybe people wouldn’t really say that but seriously, elbows are probably one of the ugliest things on the human body. They tend to age badly, becoming dry, wrinkled with coarse skin, and discolored.

Bubbles are lots of fun. A great way to sooth a cranky kiddo before your own fireworks start going off is to grab one of your favorite books or magazines, some bubbles, and the offending child and head to the bathroom. Put the child in a warm tub, hand him the bubbles and a bubble wand (and some homemade soap crayons) and sit there are read your book for as long as he is interested in the bubbles or until they run out, which ever comes first.
Considering this makes a gallon you may be there awhile.
